City of Arrogance

The ruler of Perbaz, Asha Perbaz, who led the victorious 28-year war, embarks on a journey to the imperial palace to claim the rewards promised by the emperor for their war efforts. However, the sole reward offered is the right to select a spouse. Facing this unexpected turn of events, Asha singles out the ‘Duke of Carlisle Haven,’ the recently dethroned crown prince, as her preferred choice. She contemplates accepting this proposal or securing alimony from the emperor instead. To her surprise, the Duke of Carlisle readily accepts Asha’s decision, pledging substantial support for Perbaz in return for their union.
