Summary
“I stand here speaking for the afterlife.”
Lee Do-jin’s world is collapsing. As his medical expenses mount ever higher and his younger brother’s situation grows more serious, desperation has no other recourse. It is then that he discovers this unusual business card—black, featureless, aside from a solitary number etched in silver.
Out of options, he calls.
Seated across from him is a woman unlike any he has ever known—refined, silver-haired, with an aura that does not appear to belong to the living. She introduces herself as a Chasa, a soul guide, and offers him something he does not expect: employment.
But this is not regular work.
Do-jin’s new mission takes him to the limits of life and death, where he is sent to find foul creatures known as Mokdugi—monsters that consume the souls of evil, dragging them into nothingness.
Employed by the Underworld as a part-time contract agent, Do-jin is forced to live two distinct realities: the daily fight and a secret war within that can destabilize the balance between the worlds.
In this conflict, all lives are equal—and his own might be the price.
