Summary
Hunter Cha Eui-jae was sent to close a rift over the West Sea, but as soon as he sealed it, he was flung out. He woke up in a heap of trash, disoriented and starving. He wandered into a hangover soup restaurant attracted by the smell of food, only to find he had landed in South Korea-eight years in the future.
In this time, warnings alert people of fissures before they open, ASMR videos feature dungeon slimes, and hunters casually stream unboxings of A-rank swords. The world, once terrified of apocalypse, was oddly peaceful, leaving Eui-jae feeling a strange emptiness. So, with things as they were, he decided to start fresh as a part-time worker at the hangover soup joint instead of resuming his role as a hunter.
But his plan of being incognito silently runs into a hitch when he encounters a figure in a gas mask that seems vaguely familiar. “Have we met before?” they ask, unsettling his plans in an unexpected way.
