Summary
Many years ago, a wandering scholar performed a heroic act, rescuing a magpie nest from the clutches of a menacing serpent. Overflowing with gratitude, the mother magpie pledged eternal loyalty to the scholar and his descendants. Fast forward to the present, Baek Dohan regards these tales from his grandfather as mere legends. His attention is primarily on his career and a love life that’s seen better days.
However, Dohan’s world takes an unexpected turn when a strikingly attractive neighbor moves in next door. At first, everything appears ordinary, but Dohan soon finds himself in a predicament that calls for divine intervention. To his surprise, a magpie comes to his rescue, seemingly answering his prayers.
As if this weren’t strange enough, Dohan becomes the subject of relentless pursuit by a mysterious man seemingly plucked from the past. This man, Kangho, asserts that he is a magpie sworn to protect Dohan. But why does he harbor such hostility toward Dohan’s new neighbor? It defies belief, but could it be that his grandfather’s stories held a kernel of truth all along?
